We all have dreams, little dreams, big dreams, short-term dreams, long-term dreams and my favourite kind of dreams- the big crazy dreams. Dreams that make people wonder just how crazy you really are. Dreams that inspire other people to have big crazy dreams along with you. Dreams that change the world. And tonight I’m sharing my big, crazy, world-changing dream with you.
My dreaming-ness started in December last year when I was feeling drifty and uninspired. I knew I wanted 2011 to be bigger and better than 2010, I just wasn’t sure how I was going to make that happen. Then one day, while perusing through Gala Darling’s delicious blog, I found Goddess Leonie, the creator of the Goddess Guidebook. And I felt inspired! I downloaded her guidebook and just celebrated in the awesomeness I knew I would create with it. Fortunately, just the week before, I’d run out of ink for my printer, so I couldn’t print the guidebook out. So what did I do instead? I painted it out. Here’s one of my favourite pages:
This year my big goal is to visit my family in South East Asia in June/July AND travel to Uganda in September. My crazy goal is to do all this on a super tight student budget, while not compromising other essentials in my life (ie. health insurance, Living Hope Sponsorship, phone bill, food etc). My world-changing goal is to achieve all this with grace, finesse and pizzaz and inspire the best in others by doing so! At the same time, I also want to achieve high marks at uni, build great relationships with my Au-pair family, keep in constant contact with my family in SEA and in Melbourne (and Queensland, my own state, while I’m at it!), create items to sell in my etsy shop, open an etsy shop, attend professional development sessions for pre-service teachers, continue to volunteer as a “Coordinator Information Technology” for Mission Watoto, and create a recipe ebook to sell as well. Phew!
What are your big, crazy, world-changing dreams? And what have you achieved so far this year? Tell me in the comments!
