Hi! I’m Zoe
I really believe I can be someone who changes the world in a positive way, and that everyone else can be too.
I'm a student, hippie, older sister, bicycle rider, amateur website designer, loom knitter, novice seamstress, and a little bit eccentric.
I love public speaking, photography, writing and cooking. I'm fluent in English, Sarcasm and Bullshit.

In one of my (many) craft cupboards I have a stack of sketching books, pastel paper, tins of watercolour pencils, pastels and charcoal. I sort of inherited it all from my mum, who moved overseas last month. Unfortunately I didn’t inherit her awesome drawing skills. But I’ve been working on mine, just playing around. I haven’t touched the pastels or charcoal yet… but I’ll get there! Here’s a few little bits and pieces I’ve been practising with: Continue reading
That’s right. Today I made polenta and I’m not giving you the recipe, because it didn’t work out the way I wanted it to. I will give you a simple salsa recipe though! Continue reading
We all have dreams, little dreams, big dreams, short-term dreams, long-term dreams and my favourite kind of dreams- the big crazy dreams. Dreams that make people wonder just how crazy you really are. Dreams that inspire other people to have big crazy dreams along with you. Dreams that change the world. And tonight I’m sharing my big, crazy, world-changing dream with you. Continue reading
My current creative endeavour is updating my blog theme. It’s a pain in the butt. While it looks great on my big computer, it looks awful on my small one. I’m thinking with my background and header I need to just do a total overhaul. Re-think the process entirely. I wish I was savvy enough to create a theme from scratch, but I’m not right now. And so if you see the website changing in between clicks over the next few days, it’s because I’m online and tweaking stuff! I’ll let you know when it’s finished and I’m happy with it! I had a quick play with my camera and my fairy lights last night in my new fairy cave. I love long exposure pictures. These were taken with my Nikon D3000 with 2-4 seconds of exposure. Enjoy! Continue reading
We all have them. Days when we don’t want to get out of bed, days when the smallest thing will set us off in yet another round of tears or tantrums, days when nothing goes our way and it seems like we’re making no progress. And it’s during those days that we have to remember the happy days, where the world was our oyster and life was this wonderful promise waiting to be fulfilled. Continue reading
So this project was inspired by a series of events and it’s an ongoing project (as anyone could see if they looked at my floor workspace…) It started with an email from Leonie which referred me to a link about mermaid hair. I then saw a post about how to be a mermaid, and a tweet from Jess about nymph hair. It all led up to Sunday, sprawled out all over the floor with jewels, ribbons, shells, charms, bobby pins and an old on-it’s-last-legs hot glue gun. Continue reading
I’m currently using this wool along with a matching red wool to make two scarf and beanie sets for my soon-to-be etsy shop. I was planning on opening up an etsy shop toward the end of this year, but I’m trying to step it up a notch so that it can help fund my next trip to Uganda (Africa) in September.
Just before my parents left the country, they left me with the contents of their pantry to raid. “Free food?” I said, “okay!” And I ended up with a million new spices, enough lentils to make dahl every night for the rest of my life and some quinoa. “Quinoa?” I said, “what on earth am I going to do with this?” Continue reading
